Rh-Negative Blood Group and MTP: Why It Matters

If you are Rh-negative, your doctor may recommend anti-D immunoglobulin after MTP or pregnancy loss as per clinical protocols. A simple blood group test before care helps protect future pregnancies.

Blood group is a small test with long-term importance. Rh status guides whether anti-D is advised after bleeding events or MTP. Please consult a doctor — protocols are individual.

What Rh-negative means here

Without appropriate prophylaxis in indicated situations, sensitisation can complicate future pregnancies. Your clinician decides based on guidelines and your history.

What to expect at the visit

  • Blood group / Rh if not already known
  • Discussion of anti-D when indicated
  • Same visit integrated with MTP planning
